If the bar behaves erratic, or somehow your graphics don't appear to be smooth, go to graphics logging. This bar indicates how much time is spent rendering graphics (mostly done on your GPU). A green bar, representing graphics, that (unless you cap your framerate) should be close to 100%.If that bar behaves erratic and shoots up to 100%, go to the section on performance logging and try to capture the issue with that enabled. This bar indicates how much time is spent doing physics calculations (which are done on your CPU). A purple bar, representing physics, that should never be close to 100%.If it is performance related, a good first step is to enable a little graph with Ctrl-C that shows two horizontal bars: This page gives a brief overview of each, its purpose and how to enable and send them.Īs a starting point, if your issue is not performance related, take a look at trace logging below. Apart from describing such steps, there are various different types of logs you can enable that help us diagnose problems in more detail. If you have someone else that can validate those steps, that's even better. A step by step explanation would be very helpful. Hmmm I wonder if 3Dsimed will convert to GPL from rFactor. If you are experiencing any problems when running rFactor 2 on your system, it's obviously important to describe your problem as accurately as possible so we can try to reproduce it internally. Will be watching the Wellington track with much interest.and of course there is Ardmore & Levin that could be looked into also.first though we have plenty of work on at present. We wont convert any of the NZ tracks without permission.and I always make sure we have that before we proceed. I know Motorfx is slowly working on a top quality Wigram for me.when the TRS model and textures are done. either way, between the 3 of them, it's possible that we could get a historic NZ tracks mod done later down the track, if the guys are interested. Not trying to say Dan couldnt do it just as well, cos we all know how good his work is.or even Hugh. Rob from GPL Wigram gave me approval to do a conversion of Wigram, provided I made it as good or better than the original, with new textures to suit. However in Danmans case there is the outstanding issue of a GPL Pukekohe gtk I believe he has tucked away.I can smell a dealįirst things first - getting Wellington all pretty for GPL is the task at handĪs far as GPL to rFactor, GTL and GTR2 conversions, Motorfx has proven what he can do with GPL track conversions.his Goodwood and Crystal palace conversions are sublime. Getting the thing working in GPL is enough of a task without me worrying about conversion.that said once it's done I have yet to say no. Understandably IOM and Dundrod could suffer greatly during conversion and justifiably Jim is proud of his work so it needs to be addressed.ĭeciding whether to approve conversion probably has more to do with your own investment and personal attachment to the track.which only you can put a value on." There is a question of quality control which I believe has a lot to do with Jim Pearson not being keen on conversions - sometimes the track convertors won't be too fussed on the outcome of the finished product for their particular sim. My involvement finishs the day of release. I enjoy the creation side more than anything else and do it for my own satisfaction and because I want to see what it's like to drive on a particular track that is usually just a 2D track map when I first discover it. When I release a track I don't consider it really mine anymore - it belongs to the community and you can do what you want with it. "On the other side of the coin if someone asks nicely I grant permission without hesitation and rarely follow up what happens. The topic of track conversion came up in another thread on RSC - this is my 2 cents worth when someone asked if he should allow conversion:
